How We Make Money
Every site in this category takes money from the companies it reviews. Almost none publish the rate. Here is ours.
This page exists because of a specific problem with this category. Search any factoring question and page one is companies selling the product, media sites running paid featured partners, or comparison sites that disclose a relationship with one company while linking to six. We take referral money too. The difference is that this page shows you where and how much.
How we get paid
- Referral partner commissions. Where we link to a partner program and a business we referred is funded, we may receive a commission.
- Nothing else, currently. No display advertising, no sponsored posts, no paid placement, no paid inclusion in the Rate Index.
The rate card
| Relationship | Type | What we receive | Affects ranking? |
|---|---|---|---|
| ROK Financial partner program | Referral partner | Rate not yet published by the program | No |
| No other commercial relationships are active yet. Each one will be added here, with its rate, before any link to it is published. | |||
Where a rate is not shown it is because the program has not published one to us in writing. We are asking. When we have it, it goes here. A relationship with no published rate is still disclosed as a relationship.
The rule
We only take commission from a company we would recommend anyway, and commission never changes a position in the Rate Index or a verdict on a review page. If a company asks us to change its position, we publish the request. If we ever accept paid placement, it will be labelled as paid placement on the page it appears on, not in a footer.
Where our incentives and yours diverge
Honesty about disclosure is not the same as having no conflict. Ours is real: we are paid when a referral funds, which gives us an interest in you taking finance. If the honest answer to your situation is "do not factor — fix your payment terms instead", that answer earns us nothing. We have tried to write the guidance that way anyway, and you should read it knowing the incentive exists.
Editorial independence
- No company sees a review before publication.
- No company can pay for inclusion, position or a verdict.
- Corrections are dated and left visible rather than quietly edited.
- Rate Index positions are set by the published methodology only.
